Safety is our highest priority. It is the spark that started our founder, Kelly Obriot, on his journey more than 20 years ago. He wanted to make a safer product for his own children and children everywhere.
Newborns sleep up to 17 hours a day, so it’s critical that their sleep environment is as safe as possible.
Our Sleep System drastically reduces two major risks associated with crib safety: asphyxiation and suffocation. The breathability of our sleep surface allows for greater air permeability and disperses harmful Co2 gasses at a rate higher than conventional mattresses. For more information, check out the exciting results we received through independent testing.
There are a few other steps parents can take to secure their child’s safety at night. Here are a few of our recommendations:
- Allow airflow: The success of our Sleep System relies on uninhibited airflow. For that reason, never place a sheet over the surface, or store items within the base.
- Nothing but baby: Soft objects or loose bedding in the crib pose a danger to infants. Luckily, our Sleep System allows easier temperature regulation, so your little one will sleep comfortably without blankets.
- Skip the bumpers: There is no evidence that bumper pads prevent injuries. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, their use increases the risk of suffocation, strangulation or entrapment.
- Monitoring devices: We recommend monitoring devices that clip onto your baby’s diaper or sleepwear to track their breathing.
